CHiiRO's events carry real capacity: when a room holds forty, registration forty-one is refused, and the host can see exactly who committed rather than guessing from a spreadsheet. You can register, cancel your registration, or express interest without committing — three distinct states, because "maybe" is real information that most event tools throw away.

The host owns the event.
Anyone can create an event. Set it online or in person, give it a category, cap the attendance, and manage the guest list. The host owns the event — only they can change it — and they can see who registered and who is merely interested. The things that make hosting tedious are the things that were built: filtering, search, sorting, and clean lists of what you created versus what you signed up for.

Events are filterable and searchable by category, format and time. The useful filter on a founder-and-investor network isn't location, it's relevance — an online session on convertible notes run by someone who has closed forty of them is worth more than an in-person mixer twenty minutes away. Both formats are first-class, and neither is treated as the default.
What happens after
The week afterwards is the point.
An event's value is mostly in the week afterwards, which is why events sit inside a network rather than beside one. You met someone; their profile is here; the connection request takes ten seconds; the conversation continues in a room that already exists. The tool most events need is not a better registration page, it is somewhere for the follow-up to happen.

Questions and answers
Q.Can I host an event on CHiiRO?
Yes. Any member can create an event, set it as online or in person, give it a category, cap attendance, and manage the guest list. The host owns the event and is the only person who can change it. Hosting is free and requires no approval.
Q.Does CHiiRO enforce event capacity?
Yes. When an event has a maximum attendance, registration is refused once that number of people have committed. Hosts see who committed and, separately, who expressed interest without registering.
Q.Are CHiiRO events online or in person?
Both, and neither is the default. An event is marked as one or the other when it is created, and both are filterable. On a founder and investor network the more useful filter is usually relevance rather than location.
Q.Does CHiiRO send event reminders?
Not currently. Automated reminder emails are not switched on, so add the event to your own calendar after registering. CHiiRO says this rather than listing reminders as a feature that does not run.
Q.How do I find startup events worth attending?
Filter by the specific subject rather than by proximity, and prefer smaller sessions run by someone who has done the thing repeatedly. On CHiiRO, events sit inside the network, so the follow-up conversation with someone you met happens in a place that already exists.
